Von Miller Shoots Down Fake Twitter Trade
Broncos linebacker Von Miller has shot down a fake Twitter trade that went viral on Wednesday night.
The fake tweet claimed that Denver was trading Miller to Pittsburgh for Casey Hampton.
Jones: Cowboys Aren't Dealing Jenkins
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterated that he has no intention of trading disgruntled cornerback Mike Jenkins.
Jenkins asked to be traded after the Cowboys acquired two probable starting cornerbacks in the offseason.
"There's nothing that I can conceive that would help us more as a football team and help us accomplish where we're going to be next year than having Jenkins on the team," Jones said.
"I'm sure not interested in anything in the future. I'm all about what we can do (this) year."
Cowboys May Keep Jenkins Until Training Camp
The Cowboys claim they won't trade Mike Jenkins, despite the fact they shopped the defensive back during the NFL Draft.
ESPN's John Clayton reported on SportsCenter over the weekend that if a trade is going to happen, it won't occur until late July or August.
"If they're going to deal [Jenkins]," Clayton said, "they're going to deal him during training camp."
The theory is that a cornerback-needy team might get desperate in camp, especially if one of its top corners goes down in practice or a preseason game.
Jenkins is young and his base salary is an affordable $1.052 million.
Polian: Colts Could Have Traded For Orton
The trade deadline was bumped from Week 6 to Week 8 recently, a decision that would have changed the makeup of the Colts had it been enacted last season.
Bill Polian, who was let go as president by Indianapolis after the season, said he could have acquired quarterback Kyle Orton.
"I think the deadline being moved last year would have made a difference for us," Polian said.
He says that Peyton Manning might still be with the Colts had the trade been reached. Indianapolis could have finished with a better record, keeping them out of position to draft Andrew Luck.
"We would have rekindled our interest in Orton. In Week 6, we knew our quarterback situation wasn't great, but after a couple more weeks, we realized the situation was bad," he said. "We probably would have called Denver, who'd gone to (Tim) Tebow by then, and said, 'Hey, we'll give you a three (third-round draft choice) for Orton.'"
Colts Still Have Offer On Table For Jenkins
The Colts have made multiple trade offers for Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins and one remains on the table, according to a league source.
Dallas coach Jason Garrett said this week that the team would not trade Jenkins, but another NFL source familiar with the situation said he believed a trade could be worked out for the right price.

Garrett: Cowboys Won't Deal Jenkins
The Cowboys have no plans to trade cornerback Mike Jenkins, according to coach Jason Garrett.
Dallas officials would like the disgruntled cornerback to attend organized team activities.
"Mike Jenkins, we believe, is a big part of our football team, right now," Garrett said.
"And he's making a business decision not to be here. But we're not going to trade him. We like Mike Jenkins because he's going to be a part of our team. We got to get him healthy and we got to get him back on the field."
Jenkins will not attend the voluntary team workouts at Valley Ranch and is seeking a trade from the Cowboys, according to a source.
Sources: Mike Jenkins Seeks Trade
Mike Jenkins wants the Cowboys to trade him and doesn't plan on attending this week's organized team activities, according to sources.
Jenkins, recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, has attended only a handful of voluntary workouts and while team officials wish he would come to Valley Ranch to work out.
A league source had previously claimed that the Cowboys shopped Jenkins after drafting Morris Claiborne, but another source close to the situation said Dallas was reluctant to deal Jenkins unless it received a substantial return.
Winslow Says He Won't Be Back With Buccaneers
Kellen Winslow Jr. believes his three-year run with the Buccaneers is nearing an end.
Winslow told Sirius XM NFL Radio on Monday morning that Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano informed Winslow that he won't be back with the team in 2012.
The Buccaneers are trying to trade him.
Winslow has three years remaining on his current contract and is due $3.3 million in 2012.
Cowboys Not Planning To Trade Jenkins
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he isn't planning on trading cornerback Mike Jenkins despite drafting Morris Claiborne out of LSU with the sixth overall pick in April's draft and signing free agent Brandon Carr to a five-year, $50.1M deal in the offseason.
"He's a vital part of our plan," Jones said of Jenkins at the Cowboys' annual golf outing Wednesday. "We know that we've got a situation where we can identify what we are on defense by having three corners in there a lot."
Freeney: 'I'm Not LeBron Trying To Leave The Team'
Dwight Freeney is part of the old regime and the Colts have cleaned house.
